Acuity has officially opened its digital centre of excellence at Penrose Two, Cork, marking the next phase of its long-term investment in Ireland and creating more than 100 highly skilled software engineering roles over the next three years, according to TechCentral.
Announced in September 2025, the centre serves as a global hub for software innovation and data-forward engineering. Supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland, the new Cork office brings together Acuity's expanding local leadership team and a growing pipeline of talent to drive the next generation of intelligent, scalable, data-forward solutions.
The ribbon cutting welcomed partners from University College Cork, Munster Technological University, Cork Chamber and broader regional stakeholders who play an integral role in cultivating Ireland's innovation ecosystem.
Kevin O'Riordan, site lead for Acuity's digital centre of excellence, said the Cork facility brings together the best of Acuity's technologies, serving as a hub for research and development to build innovative software solutions.
"Our Digital Centre of Excellence in Cork is more than a workplace - it's a hub for innovation, collaboration, and growth. We're building a team of disruptive thinkers, data-forward engineers, and product innovators who are helping to shape the future of our technology," he stated.
O'Riordan said the office opening celebrates how far the current workforce has come since the September announcement and aims to inspire the next generation of employees through partnership with local universities.
Deputy Lord Mayor of Cork City, Councillor Margaret McDonnell, attended the opening ceremony alongside Ger Flaherty from IDA Ireland and Conor Healy from Cork Chamber. The facility represents Acuity's commitment to establishing Ireland as a key location for global software development and engineering excellence.
