Alkami Technology, a United States fintech company, has announced expansion of its Global Capability Center in India, strengthening engineering and data resources as American banks and credit unions increase efforts to upgrade digital banking infrastructure, according to Retail Banker International.
The expanded centre in India will contribute to platform engineering, data intelligence and cloud architecture for Alkami's Digital Sales & Service Platform. The platform is used by over 300 financial institutions and serves 22 million users.
Alkami Technology states the platform represents the first to market in this category. The system assists financial institutions in adopting practices based on behavioural data, artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure to anticipate account holders' needs.
Alex Shootman, CEO of Alkami, said: "Alkami was very intentional in selecting the National Capital Region for our technology hub in India. Its location offers a remarkable concentration of bank and fintech engineering skill, technical depth, and operational talent befitting to accelerate innovation and development across the Alkami Digital Sales & Service Platform."
Shootman noted that investing in this region strengthens the company's ability to move faster, scale thoughtfully and deliver the technology that financial institutions need to compete and grow.
Alkami partnered with Summit Consulting, an affiliate of ANSR, to support development and operation of the expanded India facility. The partnership provides access to local expertise and operational infrastructure necessary for establishing and scaling the Global Capability Center.
The expansion demonstrates continued investment in offshore engineering capabilities by American fintech companies seeking to leverage India's substantial talent pool in software engineering, data science and cloud architecture. India's National Capital Region has emerged as a preferred location for technology development centres due to its concentration of skilled engineering professionals and established technology infrastructure.
