Bharat Tech Foundation (BTF), the Global Alliance of Indian Engineers in the UAE, marked Indian Engineers’ Day on October 23 at the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Dubai Campus. The event honoured Sir M. Visvesvaraya, one of India’s most distinguished civil engineers, while recognising the global contributions of Indian engineering talent.

The celebration highlighted the expanding role of Indian professionals in the UAE’s infrastructure, energy, and technology sectors, noting their critical contributions to the country’s growth over the past decades. Speakers emphasised how Indian engineers continue to shape major development projects and innovations across the region.

The programme was graced by former Union Minister Suresh Prabhu as Chief Guest. BTF UAE President Sudheer Balakrishnan presided over the event, while General Secretary Sandhya Vinod delivered the welcome address. Joint Secretary Rohit Sharma presented a keynote on the significance of Engineers’ Day, with MAHE Dubai Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sudheendra and MAHE MENA CEO Niranjan Jayakumar attending as Guests of Honour. BTF Engineers’ Day Director Thulasidharan Nair and Vice President Saravanan Parthasarathy also participated, concluding the programme with a vote of thanks.
