Northern Ireland engineering company CK International has completed the acquisition of Lyndex Recycling Systems in Telford, a manufacturer with more than a century of heritage, according to the Irish News, with the combined entity rebranding as CK Lyndex as it enters a new phase of growth.
Dungannon-headquartered CK International was founded 30 years ago and recorded sales of more than £13 million (approximately €15.4 million) in the year to March 2025. Lyndex Recycling Systems brings over 100 years of manufacturing experience in Telford, and together the businesses manufacture and supply balers and compactors, providing waste handling and recycling solutions to customers across a wide range of industries worldwide.
Ulster Bank provided a multi-million pound package of support comprising debt and trade finance to fund the acquisition and support working capital for the enlarged business. The bank also refinanced CK International as part of the arrangement.
Paul Conlon, chairman of CK Lyndex, said: "Bringing together the strengths of both companies has created a business that is significantly stronger than either could have been independently. The acquisition has unlocked opportunities that simply weren't available before, allowing us to expand our capabilities, enhance our product range, and better serve a much wider customer base."
He added: "Ulster Bank has been a valued partner throughout this journey. The funding provided gave us the confidence and financial backing to complete the acquisition and support the working capital needs of the enlarged business. As a result, we're now in a strong position to continue growing, investing in the business and recruiting talented people to support the next chapter of our success."
Danny McGivern, senior relationship manager at Ulster Bank, said: "CK International had a clear vision for how the acquisition of Lyndex Recycling Systems would strengthen the business and create new opportunities for growth. The successful integration of the two companies demonstrates what can be achieved with the right strategic investment."
The combined business has strengthened its product offering, manufacturing capability and market reach, enabling it to serve a broader customer base internationally. CK Lyndex is now recruiting for a number of new roles as it invests in the next stage of its development, supported by Ulster Bank's trade loan facility.
