Swansea-based C&P Engineering Services, a Welsh engineering services provider, has expanded its headquarters to a combined 20,000 sq ft after acquiring 1B Sandringham Park, next to its existing base at 1A Sandringham Park. The extra space adds capacity for engineering, training and control panel operations, including a dedicated switchgear and control panel workshop for C&P Control Panel Services.

Part of C&P Group Holdings, C&P Engineering Services was founded in 1973 as a family-run business and now employs more than 180 people across its Swansea headquarters, a Hull office and project sites in the UK and overseas. Its work spans specialist engineering, hazardous area compliance, EC&I services, CompEx training and process safety across a wide range of industrial sectors.

C&P Control Panel Services designs, builds and tests low voltage distribution and control panel solutions from bases in Swansea and Hull. Much of the group's electrical and instrumentation work takes place on COMAH sites and in hazardous areas where explosive atmospheres can occur.

Managing Director Paul Bunyan said: "For more than 53 years, C&P Engineering Services has grown by investing in our people, our customers and our capabilities. The recent expansion of our Swansea headquarters to 20,000 sq ft and our acceptance onto the Business Wales AGP mark an exciting new chapter in our journey."

The company has also joined the Business Wales Accelerated Growth Programme, which it sees as a way to strengthen leadership capability, develop its workforce, explore new market opportunities and continue investing in innovation, productivity and sustainable growth.

Operations Director James Bunyan said: "Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and the Accelerated Growth Programme will help us continue investing in their development while supporting the next stage of growth for the business."

The structural driver is expansion into water, nuclear, energy, manufacturing and process industries, the key sectors named in the company's long-term strategy.

For the sector, the enlarged Swansea site gives a family-founded engineering group room to combine engineering delivery, CompEx training and control panel manufacture at one location.
