Entries for the Engineering Excellence Awards 2026 closed on 29 July, marking the end of the submission window for Ireland's engineering community and setting the stage for the shortlist announcement, due to be unveiled on 21 August 2026.

The Engineering Excellence Awards recognise outstanding achievement across Ireland's engineering industry, celebrating the individuals, teams, and companies driving innovation across civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, structural engineering, and beyond.

This year's programme drew submissions from organisations working across construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, renewable energy, sustainable engineering, and engineering technology. It reflects the full breadth of a sector that continues to shape Ireland's built environment and industrial base.

The 2026 programme spans 26 categories covering engineering design, engineering projects, and project delivery across every major discipline, from Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Biomedical Engineering Project of the Year categories to Sustainability, Renewable Energy, Smart Infrastructure, and Social Impact awards.

People-focused categories including Rising Star in Engineering, Women in Engineering, Graduate Training Programme of the Year, and Apprenticeship Programme Award ensured that individual contributors and emerging talent had equal opportunity for national recognition alongside established engineering companies and large-scale infrastructure projects.

Submissions are now being assessed by an independent judging panel drawn from diverse areas of engineering expertise, with judges evaluating entries on technical excellence, measurable impact, innovation in approach, and contribution to the wider engineering industry. Shortlisted entries will receive national exposure through communications partner The Irish Times online, while winners take home a prestigious accolade alongside extensive post-awards media coverage.

With the shortlist set to be announced on 21 August, attention across Ireland's engineering leadership community now turns to which organisations and individuals will be named among the finalists.

The awards gala follows on 21 October 2026 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Santry, where winners will be recognised before hundreds of senior executives from across the Irish engineering and infrastructure sectors.
