Floating paddles that turn ocean waves into electricity tested in Los Angeles
In the Port of Los Angeles, a pilot project by the company Eco Wave Power is using floating blue paddles to generate clean electricity from ocean waves.
The Energy Conversion Unit (ECU) is the core component of Eco Wave Power’s system. The system translates the up-and-down motion of ocean waves, captured by hydraulic cylinders, into clean, usable electricity.
The company announced the completion of operational testing on August 27.
