US global fire and life safety engineering firm Jensen Hughes has acquired Singapore-based fire protection engineering consultancy HiLT Pte Ltd, according to The Machine Maker, expanding its footprint across Southeast Asia and strengthening its technical capabilities across transportation, energy storage, commercial and industrial sectors.

Established in 2002, HiLT specialises in performance-based fire engineering solutions for complex international projects, including advanced fire protection systems, water mist technologies and structural fire engineering for steel and mass timber buildings. The firm has also developed expertise in Battery Energy Storage Systems and Synthetic Fluorine-Free Foam, positioning it to address emerging fire safety requirements across the region.

The acquisition allows Jensen Hughes to combine HiLT's regional expertise with its global engineering network, enhancing support for clients undertaking large-scale infrastructure and industrial projects throughout Asia-Pacific. The integration process is currently underway, with leadership teams from both organisations working to ensure continuity for employees, clients and ongoing projects.

Jensen Hughes CEO Raj Arora said HiLT's technical expertise, established presence in Southeast Asia and experience in complex fire and life safety challenges complement Jensen Hughes' global capabilities, and that the partnership reinforces the company's commitment to creating safer, more secure and resilient communities worldwide.

HiLT founder and director Victor Ho said joining Jensen Hughes opens new opportunities to expand the company's regional reach, noting that both organisations share a focus on advancing fire and life safety through innovative engineering solutions and that the combined expertise will enable them to support clients on increasingly complex projects while maintaining high standards of technical excellence.

Jensen Hughes operates in more than 100 countries through a network of over 100 offices and employs more than 1,900 engineers, consultants, analysts and technical specialists across government, healthcare, energy, transportation, technology and mission-critical infrastructure sectors.

The company is backed by Gryphon Investors, a US middle-market private investment firm with more than US$10 billion (approximately €8.4 billion) in assets under management.

The acquisition reflects growing demand for specialist fire and life safety engineering across Asia-Pacific, where large-scale infrastructure investment and the rapid expansion of energy storage and industrial facilities are creating sustained need for performance-based engineering expertise.
