Meralco is deepening its push into nuclear energy through a partnership between its Power Academy and KEPCO International Nuclear Graduate School, with Filipino scholars set to begin training in South Korea from 2026. The initiative, part of Meralco’s FISSION programme, aims to build a skilled workforce in nuclear engineering.

The company is also exploring smart grid modernisation, advanced metering and small modular reactors, positioning nuclear as part of the Philippines’ future energy mix.
