Mitsubishi Power has completed a landmark hydrogen fuel conversion at Egypt’s ANRPC refinery, marking the MENA region’s first industrial boiler to run on 100% hydrogen. The upgrade transforms a 100-tonne-per-hour boiler from heavy fuel oil and natural gas to hydrogen, significantly cutting natural gas use by around 24,000 tonnes annually. This project also optimises the refinery’s hydrogen-rich gas output, aligning industrial energy use with cleaner, sustainable fuels.
