Indian advanced electronics manufacturing company Polymatech Electronics has opened an Asia-Pacific manufacturing hub in Singapore through its wholly owned subsidiary AEIM Pte Ltd, according to The Manila Times, backed by a committed investment of approximately US$25 million (S$32 million, approximately €21 million).

The facility, located at Mapletree Hi-Tech Park in Singapore, is positioned as one of the country's first dedicated commercial-scale LED Chip-on-Board (CoB) packaging facilities, with advanced memory module assembly capability also installed. It is expected to create approximately 50 high-value engineering and manufacturing roles in Singapore over five years.

The launch ceremony was attended by representatives from the Singapore Economic Development Board alongside technology partners from Japan, Malaysia, France, the United States and Singapore, as well as members of Singapore's semiconductor and advanced manufacturing ecosystem.

The facility serves as Polymatech's primary Asia-Pacific manufacturing base for LED CoB packaging, a technology used in high-performance lighting, display and optical applications across a range of industrial and consumer electronics sectors. The inclusion of memory module assembly capability extends the site's production scope beyond LED packaging into adjacent advanced electronics manufacturing segments.

The establishment of the Singapore hub reflects Polymatech's strategy to build regional manufacturing capacity in a market with a well-developed semiconductor and electronics ecosystem, supported by government agencies including the Singapore Economic Development Board. Singapore's position as a regional centre for advanced manufacturing makes it a strategic location for companies seeking to serve Asia-Pacific electronics markets at scale.

The investment positions AEIM as a specialist contributor to Singapore's advanced manufacturing base at a time when demand for high-specification electronics components across energy-efficient lighting, semiconductor packaging and memory applications continues to grow across the region. The site's dual capability in LED CoB packaging and memory module assembly gives the facility a broader production mandate than a single-technology operation would typically support.
