Sweden-based, Nasdaq-listed Sdiptech AB has acquired 91 per cent of VALE Engineering (York) Ltd, the England-headquartered manufacturer of specialist road, public space and infrastructure maintenance equipment. The acquisition strengthens Sdiptech's engineering capability in road maintenance as local authorities and infrastructure operators seek increasingly specialised winter and turf maintenance machinery.

Founded in 1999, VALE develops and manufactures specialist equipment for road, public space and infrastructure maintenance, with its largest product area in winter maintenance, including salt-spreading and snow plough equipment. The company also makes weed-control machinery and turf maintenance equipment, serving local authorities, infrastructure contractors and large facility operators.

VALE employs 15 people and generates annual revenue of approximately £5 million, with good profitability. The business is primarily focused on the UK market, with some international exports.

Sdiptech is a Sweden-based, Nasdaq Stockholm-listed engineering company providing technical products and services for urban infrastructure, including traffic systems and water supply networks. Its operations are organised into Tailored Installations and Niched Products & Services business areas, active primarily across the Nordic countries and the UK.

The structural driver is rising demand among UK local authorities and infrastructure operators for specialised equipment capable of maintaining roads and public spaces through increasingly variable winter weather. VALE's engineering focus on winter maintenance, weed control and turf care positions it directly within this demand.

For the sector, the acquisition joins Sdiptech's Supply Chain & Transportation business area from September 2026, with VALE's management team remaining in place. The deal adds specialised UK engineering manufacturing capability to Sdiptech's infrastructure maintenance portfolio.
